[edit] Minor tip

When making edits, try and a) point out what's been done in the "edit summary" box and b) in the case of minor corrections, as is the case with your recent edit on the Seinfeld page, label it as minor.

It's just a small time-saver for those watching the pages you edit, and generally speaking, good conduct. Zeppocity 21:28, 16 August 2005 (UTC)

Thanks for the tip. will do from now on. --vossman 01:50, September 4, 2005 (UTC)

[edit] JustPhil

The reason I edited the tables on The Office (US) was because it interfered with the cast list section. I did the best I could to fix the error; that's all. For what it's worth, I also tried to keep the color of the tables.- JustPhil 21:49, 5 November 2005 (UTC)

[edit] The Office (US)

Just wanted to leave you a quick comment to compliment those additions you made to the cast list. It looks really good! --Mrtea 19:43, 7 November 2005 (UTC)

[edit] Your Opinion Is Needed

We need your opinion on a couple of things over on the Talk:The Office (US) discussion. Could you come on by? Also, I love the cast photos on The Office (US), but Wikipedia is having a hard time serving them today. It just spins and spins and spins... and times out on me. Do you think we may need to delete them temporarily? Permanently? Thanks for your good work on The Office (US). Regards, --Jeremy Butler 01:15, 8 November 2005 (UTC)

Wikipedia seems to be doing better today. I say we keep the photos unless it becomes a recurrent problem. --Jeremy Butler 19:22, 9 November 2005 (UTC)

[edit] The Office: 6 then 7 then 3 = 16)

FYI: I heard one of the Office producers say that NBC had actually ordered a full slate of 22, but I haven't seen that confirmed. --Jeremy Butler 19:24, 9 November 2005 (UTC)

[edit] Thief!!

I noticed you stole a bit of my userpage there. I'm really offended by your actions! I'll only forgive you if you offer me some guidance on The Office (US) talk page. Just kidding.. I suppose it's sort of a compliment? I really would appreciate any ideas regarding some external linking jazz that has been getting me frustrated lately though (especially with spammers who "legitimately" sneak their site into the links.)

Regards, Mrtea (talk) 03:36, 8 December 2005 (UTC)

[edit] what tRNA is that?

your high resolution picture of tRNA is great. can you tell me what tRNA it is? Was it derived from the coordinates of a crystal structure? please let me know - bio_226t@yahoo.com

thanks and keep up the good work

Um, I don't know how to contact you, but it is from PDB id, 1ehz. We solved it in my lab. --vossman 00:58, 10 February 2006 (UTC)

[edit] thanks Voss

thanks for posting the pdb id. I have to say that the high resolution picture of phenyl alanyl tRNA is the best high resolution picture of any tRNA available on the net. keep up the good work! Hbhaska 15:50, 10 February 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Regarding your suggestions about the female adult bio template

I'm just letting you know that I've implemented those suggestions you've offered. Now all that needs to be done is to ensure that they are filled in accordingly. -- Joe Beaudoin Jr. Think out loud 03:08, 21 February 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Regarding Luke Ford pictures

Hi again! Just wanted to let you know that since Luke Ford has agreed to release images under the Creative Commons license, the images can be uploaded directly into the Wikimedia Commons. That way all the Wikimedia projects can use the images, instead of the English wikipedia exclusively. If you have any questions, please drop me a line anytime! -- Joe Beaudoin Jr. Think out loud 20:30, 28 February 2006 (UTC)

[edit] PyMol

Hi I just saw your PyMol picture you created for aquaporin. You released it under public domain. I am wondering if this agrees with the PyMol license agreement. Of course the software is free and open source. But I believe to remember to have read that if you publish anything made with PyMol you have to cite them properly and I am not sure about the license. Do you have any further information on this? If yes, could you give me the link? Thanks, --Splette Image:Happyjoe.jpg 22:09, 2 March 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Collagen Graphic

I saw, you created a picture of a collagen triplehelix molecule, currently published in Wikipedia.

I am writing a literature review in adental subject for educational reasons. May I use a picture of this molecule in this review? It will not be published in a journal but only a small number of copies will be made (around 20).

If so, what reference should I give?

Thank you

Jan Behring

I appreciate the interest. Feel free to use it with no reference to me. I pulled the molecule from the PDB and making the picture took very little time. You might want to reference the paper of the structure:
Kramer, R.Z., Bella, J., Mayville, P., Brodsky, B., Berman, H.M. Sequence dependent conformational variations of collagen triple-helical structure. Nat.Struct.Biol. v6 pp.454-457, 1999
again thanks for the interest, sorry I don't know how to contact you other than using this page. I made the graphic using PyMOL, it's a lot of fun to play with. --vossman 16:46, 21 March 2006 (UTC)

[edit] re: barnstar

Thanks. I just posted it on the "trophy case" section of my user page. [1] Zzyzx11 (Talk) 23:34, 21 March 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Spider man 3

Hey vossman, we could use your expertise. What are the probabilities that there is an image in Spiderman's eye in the new poster. Check out the discussion page. There have been some good scans added to the original one you posted. We would love to hear from you. Do you see an image? Post your comments there. Reynoldsrapture 18:58, 26 March 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Game of Set page editing

Hello, my name is Sara and I am an undergraduate student studying mathematics. I am currently working on a research grant over the summer regarding the structure and combinatorics of Set, and saw that you had posted something in the mathematics of Set section. I was curious how much work you have done with the game, and if you were still interested in it. Anything you can tell me would be very much appreciated. Thank you very much for your time.

[edit] Last Comic Standing

Thanks for making season 4 into a separate article. I'm the writer of the episode guide. The page looks great. Regarding one of your user boxes, I also think the world would be a better place with out religion. Oh and is your user name a reference to Rich Voss from the first season of Last Comic Standing? He was really funny. Thefreakshow 13:02, 3 July 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Episode Summaries

I will be writing a summary of every episode as they air. Glad you think they're good. Thefreakshow 13:33, 3 July 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Episode 8

Thanks for writing the Last Comic Standing episode 8 summary. My dad was hogging the computer after the episode aired, plus I was watching a really interesting episode of Law and Order:SVU! I think Ty Barnett did the best but probably won't win. Who did you like? Thefreakshow 19:12, 19 July 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Last Comic Standing

Who wrote it then? I like Roz, but she kinda screams all her jokes and Chris has some wierd accent and isn't that funny to me, but hey, I'm a 12 year old! A Ty versus Josh finale would be great. I only noticed problems with Josh's and Chris' delivery in episode 8. They were probaly nervous or forget some of their material. Michele was ok. New York doesn't really smell like urine. I would know, I live there. Thefreakshow 19:27, 19 July 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Image:TheOfficeUS cast.jpg

FYI -- Another editor has marked this image for deletion since it's no longer at the web URL you specified when you uploaded it in Dec 2005 and it's a possible copyright violation. I suspect it's still fair use, but you might need to dig around for another copy. Otherwise it gets deleted in 7 days. (Copyright is a big deal on Wikipedia since there's not a lot of $$$ to defend against copyright suits.) --A. B. 15:48, 29 September 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Image:Josh Blue.jpg

Thanks for uploading Image:Josh Blue.jpg. I notice the 'image' page specifies that the image is being used under fair use, but its use in Wikipedia articles fails our first fair use criterion in that it illustrates a subject for which a freely licensed image could reasonably be found or created that provides substantially the same information. If you believe this image is not replaceable, please:

  1. Go to the image description page and edit it to add {{Replaceable fair use disputed}}, without deleting the original Replaceable fair use template.
  2. On the image discussion page, write the reason why this image is not replaceable at all.

Alternatively, you can also choose to replace the fair use image by finding a freely licensed image of its subject, requesting that the copyright holder release this (or a similar) image under a free license, or by taking a picture of it yourself.

If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified how these images fully satisfy our fair use criteria. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on this link. Note that any fair use images which are replaceable by free-licensed alternatives will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Oden 06:10, 10 January 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Orphaned fair use image (Image:Michael Scott.jpg)

Thanks for uploading Image:Michael Scott.jpg. The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable under fair use (see our fair use policy).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any fair use images not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you.
