Vorsprung durch Technik

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Vorsprung durch Technik (pronounced /ˈfoːɐʃpʁʊŋ dʊɐç ˈtεçnɪk/, German for Progress through technology or 'Headstart through technology') is the main strapline and company ethos for the Audi marque. It has been used since the 80's in Audi advertising campaigns all over the world. Audi, a German automobile maker is owned wholly by Volkswagen.

After its repeated use in advertising campaigns, the phrase found its way into popular British and American culture, being used, for example, in the U2 song "Zooropa" and the Blur song "Parklife".

Paul van Dyk also had a 3 CD album of prior works with a similar title: Vorsprung Dyk Technik.
