The Volvo Group consists of eight main business areas, which are supported within the group by a number of business units.

Volvo 3P is a business unit within the Volvo Group responsible for product planning, product development, purchasing and product range management for the three truck companies, Mack, Renault Trucks and Volvo Trucks. Volvo 3P is a global business unit with offices in Allentown, Bangalore, Brisbane, Curitiba, Greensboro, Gothenburg, Lyon, Shanghai. The Business Unit has approximately 3000 employees. Volvo Powertrain are the world's largest manufactures of heavy-duty diesel engines (>8 liter volume).
Volvo Powertrain coordinates Volvo's driveline activities and supplies the entire Volvo Group with driveline components, such as diesel engines and transmission, which are either developed and manufactured by Powertrain or purchased. Volvo Powertrain has operations in Sweden, France, and North and South America with total of approximately 8,000 employees. President of Volvo Powertrain is Lars-Göran Moberg. Volvo Powertrain

Volvo Parts provide services and tools to support the Volvo aftermarket. The services start at the suppliers, through the dealers all the way to the end customers. In short it includes parts planning, purchasing, transport, warehousing, stock balance, order management and after market tools and services.
Volvo Parts support six business areas within the Volvo Group; Volvo Trucks, Renault Trucks, Mack Trucks, Volvo Penta, Volvo Buses and Volvo Construction Equipment. The President of Volvo Parts is Lars-Ake Jävert. Volvo Parts

Volvo Technology (VTEC) is an innovation company that develops new technologies and concepts for "hard" as well as "soft" products and processes within the transport and vehicle industry. The primary customers are the Volvo Group companies and Volvo Cars but also some selected suppliers. In addition they run some strategic programs and expert functions related to innovation.
Volvo Technology participate in national and international research programs involving universities, research institutes and other companies. VTEC has more than 350 professionals and is located at Lundbystrand and Chalmers Science Park in Göteborg, and at Volvo's establishments in Lyon, France and Greensboro, USA. Volvo Information Technology, Volvo IT provides solutions for all areas of the industrial process, and offers unique skills and expertise in Product Lifecycle Management, SAP solutions, and IT Operations. Clients include the Volvo Group, Ford-owned Volvo Cars, and other large industrial external companies.
Services like management of SAP BASIS Components for external parties are globally covered by teams residing in Göthenburg, Ghent, Lyon, Greensboro and Kuala Lumpur.

Volvo Logistics designs, handles and develops business logistics systems for the automotive and aviation industry worldwide. They are represented in Europe, North and South America and Asia, close to customers' largest plants or logistic hubs. Striving to be the very best partner in every individual case for all transport requirements they select from their global network of first-class carrier specialists that are serving customers both within and outside the Volvo Group. Volvo Logistics have around 700 employees and our current turnover is approximately SEK 7 billion.

Volvo Business Services AB (VBS) is a wholly owned subsidiary of AB Volvo with operations in Sweden (Gothenburg, Eskilstuna), Poland (Wrocław), France (Lyon) and USA (Greensboro, NC).
VBS provide rational, cost-efficient and high quality services in the financial administration area for the Volvo Group companies. They co-operate actively with our customers and continuously develop our services and processes thus adapting to changes in the customer's requirements. The operations includes Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable, Cash & Bank, Fixed assets and Financial reporting. Also included in our operation is purchasing goods and services, Volvo Group NAP.
