Volcom Entertainment

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Volcom Entertainment, is an American record label based in Costa Mesa, California. It was officially founded in 1995, in Newport Beach, CA and is the brainchild of theLINE's singer/guitarist Ryan Immegart and Volcom Clothing founder Richard Woolcott. Immegart being Volcom's first sponsored snowboarder and having a love for music provided the necessary components to launch the label through Volcom.

Being a brand recognized world -wide for its youth lifestyle clothing allowed Volcom the perfect chance to introduce theLINE's "self-titled" debut CD within the surf/skate/snow community. CD sales for the first six months exceeded 5000 units through non-traditional distribution (ie.s urf, skate and snow retailers). In the next several years the label continued to grow through traditional and non-traditional record retail, launching bands such as CKY, Vaux, and Pepper. Volcom Entertainment has also sponsored and operated its own stage on the Van's Warped Tour since 1997.

Volcom Entertainment is a part of the EastWest Records family of labels.
