[edit] russian vw pointer ?

it looks like there is another vw pointer, crrently available in russia http://www.volkswagen.ru/showrooms/pointer and it does not look anything like the south american one http://www.volkswagen.ru/showrooms/?id=p_wallpapers

The Pointer name is taken for varies reason one to do with not confusing customers with Golf. The Early South American Pointer was rebadged Ford Escort, VW then broke off with Ford they had a partnership & VW Mexico started selling the Gol range as the Pointer and its stuck since. So in actual fact the Russian spec Pointer is infact another name for the VW Gol.--202.6.138.34 06:39, 17 July 2006 (UTC)
