Dragon Ball Z: Volume 1 (1st Edition)

Dragon Ball Z: Volume 1 (Dragon Ball: Volume 17, in Japan) is the first manga volume written and drawn by Akira Toriyama, featuring his popular Dragon Ball Z series. The original Japanese release volume 17 was published in 1989. The first English edition was published in March 2003, and finally the second and most current edition, published in June 2006.

The manga itself in Japan is named "Dragon Ball: Volume 17" of a 42 volume series. In its English language, it is only known as volume 1.

Viz Media also released a full color version of the manga in October 2000. Being in color and all, the price was a few dollars extra.
