Voice Tag

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Voice tags are used in automated speech recognition in a voice command device. e.g. Voice commands to an automated device.

[edit] Use in phones

One typical use is to make phone calls in phones equipped with speech recognition. Any spoken word or words can be a voice tag. Before using voice dialing, note that:

  • Voice tags are sensitive to background noise. A quiet environment is needed to record them and make calls in .
  • Very short names are not accepted. Use long names and avoid similar names for different numbers.

The voice tag must be said the way it was recorded. This may be difficult in a noisy environment or during an emergency.

Example: You can use a person’s name for a voice tag, for example, John’s mobile.

You can now leave a voice note from your mobile and it is converted to text and emailed to you.
