[edit] The song title

Elitsa Todorova & Stoyan Yankoulov explain: "Our folklore is like water. We've chosen this title "Water", because in Bulgarian folklore there are very slow beautiful songs, which are like a lake. But we also have songs, with very fast rhythm which are like a waterfall. And my wish is this song to be like "Water", a gasp of fresh air, for the human spirit and soul. When we recorded the promo video of this song, they poured lots of rain on us, and I felt purified. I want everyone, who hears this song to feel the same way- liberated. This is a very positive song! I'm sure that people will feel it!"

[edit] Promo video of "Water"

The promo video is shot by the Bulgarian director Valeri Milev. The video takes the viewer on a magical journey in a mystic, fairy-tales world, where thunders and lightening tear up the sky and stir the air. A heavy rainstorm strikes from up above and as if it lets all emotions and energy free. Elitsa(an angel with big black wings) takes off on a journey through dark and restless clouds to meet her destiny.

[edit] The duo's live performances

The Todorova-Yankoulov Duo presents a percussion show – a combination of Bulgarian ethnic lyrics, drum & bass rhythm and presence of stage. The synchronized playing on several percussion instruments at a time (drums, tupan, tarambuka, Jew's Harp, etc.), their improvisations are mixed up with jazz, ethnic motifs, nature sounds and hectic electronic beats.
