Vallurupalli Nageswara Rao Vignana Jyothi Institute of Engineering and Technology (usually referred to as VNR College or Vignana Jyothi Engineering college) was established in 1995. The institute started primarily as an undergraduate college offering coursework towards a B.Tech (Bachelor of Technology) degree.

Vision To strive hard in developing the Institte as a Centre of Excellence to impart quality education in Engineering and Technology coupled with moral and ethical values in the process igniting the young brains to work for the betterment of the quality of life

Mission To achieve all round development of the Institute,the staff and the students leading to continual satisfaction of the stated and implied aspirations and expectations of the Stakeholders.To Integrate class room learning with field experience producing comprehensive and competent Engineers to face the ever-increasing global challenges

Goals To develop an excellent Institute for the advancement and dissemination of knowledge and skills in the area of Engineering and Technology.To develop and train quality human resources having creativity,innovation and enterpreneurship to work with missionary zeal for the betterment of the society, To continuously develop and sustain the presence of high quality faculty and staff members who can achieve the goals,fulfill the mission and work successfully towards the vision of the Institute
