Vladimir Pribylovsky

Vladimir Valerianovich Pribylovsky (Russian: Владимир Валерианович Прибыловский, b. March 6, 1956, Moscow, Soviet Union) is a Russian historian, publicist and human rights advocate opposed to current Russian authorities.
He graduated from the Department of Medieval History of Moscow State University in 1981 specializing in Byzantine studies. In 1980s he was persecuted by Soviet authorities for spreading banned literature. Since 1993 he is the president of the Panorama Information and Research Center think tank. In 2006 - 2007 he also operated the Anticompromat.ru web site (in Russian), which is essentially a collection of biographies of Russian politicians written mostly by him (not to be confused with the yellow Compromat.ru by Sergey Gorshkov). On March 28, 2007, Anticompromat.ru was closed.
He has co-authored chapters of The Operation Successor book about Vladimir Putin's coming to power (in Russian) with Yury Felshtinsky.
