Visakhapatnam district is the second-most advanced district in Andhra Pradesh, India.

It has a population of 3,832,336 of which 39.95% is urban as of 2001.[1]
Also called as Vizag, this is a beautiful port city with decent beaches and very friendly people. It is the central hub for the industries and education in the state of Andhra Pradesh. "Vijay Diwas" is celebrated by the Indian Navy in Visakhapatnam as a victory over Pakistan in 1971,when a submarine crossed the entire coast and entered the waters of the vizag port with an intension to destroy the port. it was sunk by the indian navy.
Another pride for the City is the "Vizag Steel plant". To acquire this plant a huge mass movement arise saying "visakha ukku andhrula Hakku", which finally got the steel plant to the city.
Andhra Pradesh government is seriously considering for the building up a new International Airport because of its importance. Also a major port is coming up to cater the needs of imports and exports.
