[edit] Introductory sentence

The first sentence states: "In the field of neuropsychology, a visual evoked potential is an evoked potential caused by sensory stimulation of a subject's visual field." Can the first phrase (i.e. "In the field of neuropsychology") be removed as redundant information because the definition is the same for the field of ophthalmology? I'd think so. --171.64.204.98 22:25, 26 July 2005 (UTC)

I am a little new to the medical field, and I book a lot of VEP's for Pt. I need a quick explination that I can give to Pt. that will let them now what a VEP is. Put in terms that they can understand.
