[edit] Usage
This template is to be used per the instructions at Portal:Visual arts/Selected image.
- Image is the image link itself, typically in the form of xyz.jpg.
- Size is desired size of the image. If left blank, defaults to 275px, which is a good starting point. Note that the desired size can vary widely depending on the vertical/horizontal dimensions of the picture. Care should be given to not have the image overwhelm or underwhelm the portal page.
- Caption is a brief informational blurb, no more than a few words (title and artist). It is not the displayed text, which is under text.
- Text is the main caption that will be displayed below the picture. If at all possible, the text should highlight a single Wikipedia entry best illustrated by the selected image. Make the wikilink to that entry bold. Text should be no more than two to three sentences.
- Credit is used to provide attribution to the source of the image. Wikilinks or external links, as appropriate, can be employed here.
