Virtual series

[edit] What is a VS?
A Virtual Series or VS for short is a virtual show. Meaning that there are season, long running plot, arcs, recurring characters, and actual episodes. For the most part these episodes are written in the form of a screenplay using any number of the available scripting writing programs.
However, most virtual series have communities, called networks. In an attempt to add an air of professionalism most networks like, Monster Zero Productions and The BVC require a show to run on a schedule or releasing an episode each week. Hiatus are allowed, and shows can either be delayed or cancelled depending on the constraints on the staff of the show.
[edit] VS and Fan Fiction
One common misconception is that Virtual Series are pieces of Fan Fiction. This is however, not the case. Though some VS's do take on the continuation of canceled shows or even expand in a given universe there are many many more that are original works of fiction that are the solo idea and property of the show runner and staff.
[edit] Legal Issues
Virtual Continuations and Series set in pre-existing universes don't seek to make any money and are left alone just like Fan Fiction is. However, many Virtual Series use actors in their cast. These actors don't have any affiliation with the virtual series, and most if not all virtual series give disclaimers.
