Viromandui
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
The Viromandui were a tribe of the Belgae, according to Caesar's De Bello Gallico. The Viromandui occupied the area, roughly speaking, of the département of the Aisne in Picardy. Their main stronghold, after their defeat, was refounded by Caesar as Noviomagus Viromanduensis, later known as Noyon, in Picardy.
