Virility

Virility is part of the traditional idealized male gender role and derived from the Latin word vir meaning man. According to this view, a virile man is vigorously sexually active, and capable of making women pregnant.
Virility is also traditionally associated with other aspects of masculinity, and cultivated in machismo.
Historically, masculine attributes such as beard growth (see men in picture) have been seen as signs of virility and leadership (for example in ancient Egypt and Rome.)[2]
