Viriatos
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Viriatos were Portuguese volunteers siding with the insurgents during Spanish Civil War.
869 people had served, mostly as a part of the Spanish Legion (together with 38 already serving in the legion before the mutiny broke out). There were also 3 groups of Portuguese in the aviation.
Some sources state much higher number of volunteers, by order of magnitude.
