The Virginia Senate election of 2008 will be held on November 4, 2008. The election could be an open contest, as the incumbent senator, John Warner could retire due to age. However, as of December 7, 2006, Warner has stated that he is considering running for re-election.

Both parties will try to pick high profile candidates as the 2008 election could swing Congress back to Republicans or stay Democratic.
