Viper Comics was founded in December 2001 as an independent publisher in Dallas, Texas specialising in indie comics from creative teams working on projects otherwise unlikely to achieve retail distribution. Viper Comics has received critical acclaim from the independent comics community, most notably for Villains [1] [2] and Dead @ 17. More recently The Middleman and Emily Edison have been selected as 2007 Great Graphic Novels for Teens by The Young Adult Library Services Association (YALSA), the fastest growing division of the American Library Association (ALA).[3]
