[edit] History
At the end of 1813 or beginning of 1814, the Napoleon's army invaded the city where Violane Armand lived with her parents. Her father resisted the troops, who tried to confiscate the city's provisions, and was shot together with his wife and daughter. Violane was 16 years old at the time. As she waked as an Immortal, there was only one soldier present: the Immortal Louis Ducharde. Since her house was on fire and everybody she knew had been killed, he took her to Paris. Louis promised her a life as a lady, but instead forced her into prostitution.
At the end of November 1815 she met the Immortal Duncan MacLeod, who took her out of the streets and brought her to the Immortal priest Darius. Darius befriended her and took her as his pupil.
He tried to assist her in making a better life for herself by teaching her the healing arts and allowing her to assist him. After some months, however, Violane became restless, so Darius asked his Immortal acquaintance Marie Guilliard to teach the girl what she needed to know to survive and that she couldn’t learn from Darius. Marie and her mortal husband Hubert lived on a farm south of Paris. She served as a healer and a midwife to nearby villages, so Darius hoped that Violane might continue to study the art of saving lives in addition to acquiring skill in the use of a sword.
Despite of all their efforts on her behalf, the willful and self-destructive Violane ran off after two years. Darius and Marie searched for her in vain. Isolated, Violane soon noticed that her juvenile appearance didn't give her many chances of living as an independent woman. Thus, she again returned to her former life of prostitution. In 1842, she met Duncan MacLeod again. She attacked him, but he defeated her with ease and offered to help her again. When she continued attack him however, he beheaded Violane in self-defence.
