Vincuk Viačorka

Vincuk Viačorka (Belarusian: Вінцук Вячорка, born July 7, 1961) is a Belarusian politician and the current leader (since 1999) of the Belarusian People's Front (BPF), a Belarusian opposition party.
Vincuk Viačorka was born on July 7, 1961 in Brest in the family of a Soviet bureaucrat.
He graduated from the Philology faculty of the Belarusian State University (1983) and the Linguistics Institute of the Belarus Academy of Sciences (1986).
Vincuk Viačorka worked as a professor at the Minsk State Pedagogical Institute and the Belarusian Humanities Lyceum, as a journalist and the deputy chief redactor of the culture magazine "Spadčyna" (Спадчына).
From 1979, Viačorka was an active member of the national-democratic movement in Belarus. He was one of the founders of several juvenile cultural groups and organisations: Majstroŭnia (Майстроўня, 1979–1984), Tałaka (Талака, 1986–1989), the Confederation of Belarusian Juvenile Organisations (1988–1989).
Vincuk Viačorka candidated for deputate in the Supreme Soviet of Belarus, but was not successful.
In 1988, he was one of the founders of the BPF. Viačorka was head of programme documents commission and a member of the party's central board. In 1995-1999 he was deputy head of the BPF.
Mr. Viačorka is the founder and head of an educational non-governmental organization, the Supolnaść Centre (Цэнтар "Супольнасьць) and was head of the working group of the NGO Assembly of Belarus (1999–2000).
Vincuk Viačorka speaks several European languages, is married, has two daughters and a son. His wife Aryna is a mathematician.
