Vincent Strambi

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Saint Vincent Strambi was a Catholic Bishop who was a member of the Passionist Congregation. He had been a close friend and biographer of the Passionist Founder Saint Paul of the Cross. Aside from his biography of his dear friend, Strambi also wrote the Manual on Sacred Eloquence, which advised priests on how to preach effectively.

After retiring as a Bishop, Saint Vincent was asked by the Pope to work as an assistant. When the Pope was ill, Vincent offered his own life to God in exchange for the ailing pontiff. Vincent died on his own birthday.

He was canonised by Pope Pius XII in 1950.
