Vincent Margera is the older brother of Phil Margera, brother in-law of April Margera and uncle of Jess (CKY band drummer) and Bam Margera. He is unmarried and lives in West Chester, PA, although a condition of his arrest in August 2006 required him to remain in Colorado. His home can be seen in Haggard: The Movie and various episodes of Viva La Bam.

Margera is usually referred to as "Don Vito," a nickname given to him by nephew Bam referring to his near unintelligible speech reminiscent of Don Vito Corleone, of The Godfather, as well as saluting the Margera family's Italian heritage. Bam's friend, HIM singer Ville Valo, used to use the nickname "Don Vitto" which Bam borrowed to refer to his uncle Vince. It comes from the Finnish swearword "vittu," meaning "vagina."

Unlike his brother Phil, who is depicted as kind, easygoing and quiet, Vito is loud and obnoxious. Margera is obese, and is often difficult to understand while speaking (especially when frustrated and/or angry), forcing subtitles to be used for much of what he says in Viva La Bam. Even then, much of his dialogue is either gibberish or unintelligible. He has partial sight in one eye and makes no secret of his love for the female form, particularly breasts.

In 2007, Don Vito featured in Redman's new music video "Put It Down", where he plays a police officer along side Donnell Rawlings from the Chappelle Show.

Arrested for Sexual Assault

On Friday, August 18, 2006, Don Vito was arrested at the Colorado Mills Mall in Lakewood, Colorado for allegedly groping three underage girls (two 12 and one 14 year old) inappropriately at an autograph signing and was subsequently held with bail set at $50,000.[1] He posted bond around 10p.m. the following Monday. As a condition of his bond, Margera was ordered not to possess any alcohol, drugs, and weapons and is not permitted to contact the victims.

As a result of the arrest, the stunts involving Don Vito were removed from the theatrical and DVD release of Jackass 2, but several stunts were briefly shown in previews leading up to his arrest. He is also not appearing on Bam's new show, Unholy Union because of his arrest.[2]

During a preliminary hearing on February 1, 2007, the arresting officer, Melissa Mayne, testified that Vito called her and a fellow officer "psycho bitches" during his arrest. Vito is represented by Pamela Mackey who defended Kobe Bryant.[3] There was an arraignment hearing on March 5 at which Vito pleaded not guilty. Next will be a motions hearing on May 25, and a five-day jury trial scheduled to begin on August 27.[4]

Bam has defended Vito on Radio Bam[5] and in an interview with Transworld Skateboarding.[6]
