[edit] Career & Personal Life
Vincent Irizarry (born November 12, 1959 in Queens, New York) is an American actor. He is best for playing the role of Dr. David Hayward on the soap opera All My Children, a role he originated in 1997 and played until November 29, 2006. In September 2006, Irizarry was fired from AMC after almost ten years due to lack of storyline.
In November 2006, Irizarry joined the cast of The Young and the Restless as David Chow, a character who is somehow connected to the mystery surrounding the murder of Carmen Mesta (Marisa Ramirez). He will first air in the U.S. on January 9th, 2007, and is contracted for thirteen weeks.
Irizarry got his start in daytime television in 1983 as Brandon/Lujack Luvonaczek on Guiding Light. He was paired up with Judi Evans Luciano and they were considered a "supercouple." He was nominated for an Emmy in 1985, but lost to future AMC co-star Michael E. Knight. He also played the role of Nick McHenry Spaulding on the show from 1991 to 1996.
At the age of 11, Irizarry began to study piano, becoming classically trained, then continued his studies at Berklee College of Music in Boston. It was there that he fell in love with acting while performing in numerous productions with a regional theater company. He decided to move back to New York to sow the seeds for a career as a professional actor, soon winning a full-time scholarship with the late Lee Strasberg at his Theater Institute.
Irizarry was married for three years to actress Signy Coleman (married from 1989-1992), with whom he has a daughter. He has two children with his current wife, Avalon House.
