Vince Perkins

Mark Vince Perkins (born on September 27, 1981 in Victoria, British Columbia, Canada) is a minor league pitcher for the Milwaukee Brewers.

Originally drafted by the Baltimore Orioles in the 49th round of the 1999 draft, 1439th overall. However, he didn't sign and entered the 2000 draft, where he was selected by the Toronto Blue Jays in the 18th round, 538th overall. He played one year of baseball at Lake City Community College before signing as draft and follow with Toronto. He made his professional debut in 2002 with the Auburn Doubledays of the New York-Penn League. In 2004 he was put on the Blue Jays 40-man roster and was named as the Blue Jays' 8th best prospect in early 2005, and 10th best in 2006. In 2005 he made his Double A debut with the New Hampshire Fishercats, where he went 7-7 with an ERA of 4.03 and 111 strikeouts.

He was a childhood friend of Oakland Athletics pitcher Rich Harden.

On April 1, 2006, Perkins was designated for assignment by the Blue Jays and subsequently claimed off waivers by the Milwaukee Brewers on April 12. He chose to resign with the Brewers on a minor-league contract after becoming a minor-league free agent after the 2006 season.

Perkins underwent Tommy John surgery and is out for the remainder of the 2006 season.
