[edit] Please use edit summaries

When editing an article on Wikipedia there is a small field labeled "Edit summary" under the main edit-box. It looks like this:

Edit summary text box

The text written here will appear on the Recent changes page, in the page revision history, on the diff page, and in the watchlists of users who are watching that article. See m:Help:Edit summary for full information on this feature.

Filling in the edit summary field greatly helps your fellow contributors in understanding what you changed, so please always fill in the edit summary field, especially for big edits or when you are making subtle but important changes, like changing dates or numbers. Thank you. Mark83 16:46, 9 November 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Kimi at Wrooom 2007

Hey. When you use an image as "not copyrighted", you must be able to verify the status. The image in question is most likely copyrighted to some F1 media, and probably not to www.kimiraikkonenforever.com, but this website has just found it somewhere. Good source for free images is, for example, Flickr. As Wikipedia:Uploading images puts it: Please note that most images you might find on the Internet are copyrighted and not appropriate for uploading to Wikipedia. If you did not create the image or are unable or unwilling to verify its copyright status, do not upload the image. Thanks, Prolog 22:45, 12 January 2007 (UTC)

OK, but please make sure to get a permission for anyone to use and modify the image, even commercial organizations. A permission to use it on Wikipedia is not enough. Prolog 11:52, 13 January 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Fair use rationales

Do not remvoe the {{no rationale}} tag unless you supply a fair use rationale. Please see Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline. In their current state, the images of the Naked News girls should be deleted. I will be restoring the tags. If you remove them again without supplying a fair use rationale, it will be considered vandalism. Jay32183 22:34, 28 February 2007 (UTC)

The change was that I finally noticed the problem. Are you actually reading about fair use rationales. I did not tag the images as missing sources, I tagged them as not explaining why they are compliant with the fair use criteria. Since 2006-05-04, that has been a criterion for speedy deletion after being tagged for seven days. You are not being targetted, Naked News is not being targetted. Jay32183 23:10, 28 February 2007 (UTC)
The other images were uploaded before 2006-05-04 so the {{no rationale}} template cannot be used. They also need {{fair use rationale}} but they cannot be added to the list for speedy deletion. There will probably be another problem with the images if you do manage to write a fair use rationale. One part of the rationale is explaining why the unfree image cannot be replaced by a free image, which I'm not sure you will be able to do. Check Image:ReikaMishimaWings.jpg#Fair use for List of RahXephon media for an example of what fair use rationale means. Jay32183 01:50, 1 March 2007 (UTC)
