[edit] Windows copyright stub
Why change this from {{software-screenshot}} to {{windows-software-screenshot}}? While it's true that the screenshot is under Windows, Vim itself runs on many operating systems and isn't copyrighted specifically for Windows. -- Heptite (talk) 05:46, 29 October 2005 (UTC)
- Erm...... dudes: This isn't even a Windows screenshot. It's a KDE 3.4/3.5 screenshot (with plastik window decoration). It just happens to be editing some code that can be used on windows :P .--Alsuren
[edit] Reverted to 17 September version
While I agree it might be nice to show more features of Vim the new screenshot was just hard to see, especially when it's resized for the Vim article. I think it would work better if the screenshot wasn't any larger than about 800x600, and it was using a white background instead of black. Folding could also be demonstrated in the screenshot. -- Heptite (T) (C) (@) 22:48, 22 April 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Copyright notice
I've removed the {{Fair use reduce}} tag and changed the copyright notice to {{Free screenshot}} {{GPL}}. Despite not having been the original uploader of the current image (though I did upload a color indexed version to reduce the file size) I—or anybody—could easily recreate almost the exact same screenshot, and the Vim license itself has wording that allows you to apply the GPL if necessary (Richard Stallman has declared the Vim license to be GPL compatible (maybe there should be a {{GPL compatible}} template)). -- Heptite (T) (C) (@) 18:03, 4 December 2006 (UTC)
