Villaputzu is a comune (municipality) in the Province of Cagliari in the Italian region Sardinia, located about 45 km northeast of Cagliari. As of 31 December 2004, it had a population of 4,983 and an area of 181.6 km².^[1]

The municipality of Villaputzu contains the frazione (subdivision) Quirra.

Villaputzu borders the following municipalities: Armungia, Arzana, Ballao, Escalaplano, Jerzu, Muravera, Perdasdefogu, San Vito, Ulassai, Villasalto.
