Villa Romano

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Villa Romano is one of the greatest estates of "Valle della Cupa" and the biggest in Monteroni di Lecce, Italy. It was designed by Raffaele Politi. The main building, in Neoclassicist style, is structured in two floors: the ground floor was built for household staff's and peasants' accommodation and for warehousing, while the first floor was the "piano nobile" reserved to the landlord's family. The villa's estate includes a private chapel and numerous lesser buildings. The impressive garden borders the neighbouring Villa Urselli and Villa Bruni.
