Viktor Sarianidi

Viktor Ivanovich Sarianidi (russ. Виктор Иванович Сарианиди; born September 23, 1929 in Tashkent) is a well-known Russian archaeologist of Greek descent. He discovered the remains of a Bronze Age culture (see Bactria-Margiana Archaeological Complex) in the Karakum Desert in 1976.
