- The European symphony metal band Leaves' Eyes has recorded an album called Vinland Saga, which depicts the story of the Vikings as they sailed to the New World. They have also recorded a sequel, called Legend Land, which continues the story
- There is a genre of music called viking metal.
- The melodic death metal band Amon Amarth sings about vikings in most of their songs, such as 'Pursuit of Vikings', 'Runes to my Memory' and 'Valhall Awaits Me'.
- Led Zeppelin's Immigrant Song is a song about Viking lore.
