[edit] Cast
The show featured Johnny "Drama" Chase as the lead character, Torvald. Vanessa Angel appeared in 3 episodes.
[edit] Premise
Little has been revealed about the show's premise, but references made to Torvald's birthplace in Northumbria and his arch enemy Thorfinn Skull-splitter imply that the series was set in the middle of the 10th century AD, and that at least some of the action centred on the Vikings in the Orkney Islands.
[edit] Trivia
- The show ran for 22 episodes[1].
- Episode 9 was called "The Thawing". In this episode, Torvald is frozen for 30 years, and when he wakes up, his wife is remarried [2].
- Johnny Drama's character (Torvald) has a signature exclamation, "VICTORY!!!"[3].
- Vanessa Angel starred in a spin-off series called Angel Quest, which went on to run "5 times longer" than Viking Quest[4].
- Both fictional shows are likely an allegorical parody of Hercules: The Legendary Journeys being surpassed in popularity by its spin-off, Xena: Warrior Princess in the mid-1990s.
- Torvald's ship was called the "Gokstad" (possibly a reference to the Gokstad ship) [5].
- The show's tagline is "From the past... comes a warrior of the future." [6].
