Vidya Academy of Science and Technology started in the academic year 2003-2004 VAST is ideally located in the sylvan surroundings of a 30 acre plot half-way between the temple town of Guruvayoor and Thrissur, the esteemed aesthetic centre of Kerala. Once inside the campus, the alluring fresh air that wafts in from the high hillock in the close vicinity of which the college is situated and the abundant supply of pellucid water, seldom found in the midst of urban conglomerations these days can be a spell-binding experience.Far from the madding crowds ignoble strife and sequestered from the din and bustle of the cities and towns the place is ideal for academic pursuit of a high order.The pride of VAST is its brilliant, committed and handpicked faculty, ably supported by top-notch infrastructure and up-to-date curricula. The availability of multimedia technology in teaching and learning processes provided by specialist staff is an added boon.

[edit] History of Vidya International Charitable trust
In the year 1999 a group of philanthropic Keralites living in the United Arab Emirates met together with the initial intention of interacting and knowing each other better. After a few gatherings, everyone felt that they should do something tangible to help their home state, Kerala. After all, they are what they are now because of the love and support given by the society back in Kerala. Therefore, they should give back something without expecting anything in return.
After review and discussion of many ideas, one was selected - to provide state-of-the-art higher education and training to our younger generation that will enable them to get good jobs, and thus elevate their status in the society.
This noble vision, combined with determination, paved the way to register a Trust in December 2000 known as 'Vidya International Charitable Trust’. Like-minded, Non Resident Keralites from all over the world joined hands and contributed generously for the great cause. Today, Vidya's membership stands at over 900 people and is growing everyday.

Vidya Academy of Science & Technology (VAST) is located at 15th Kilometer on Thrissur-Guruvayoor highway and is easily accessible by public and private transport buses which stop at Kaiparambu. VAST is spread over 30 Acres of plain, non-polluted lush green land with plentiful fresh water resources, a location most ideally suited for disturbance free hi-tech engineering education.
