Vidar Leif Haanes

Vidar L. Haanes (born April 27th 1961 in Kristiansand, Norway) is professor of Church History and Rector of MF Norwegian School of Theology, Oslo.

Haanes graduated from MF Norwegian School of Theology in 1985, was ordained 1986, dr.theol.1998. He has written books and articles on theological education; the Protestant Reformation; Norwegian-American history. He is editor of Luthersk Kirketidende (1863- ), HalvÄrsskrift for Praktisk Teologi and Nordic Journal of Religion and Society. Leader National Council of Theology and Religious Studies; Leader Association of Private Universities and Colleges; Member of the study committee, Norwegian Association of Higher Education; Humanistic Collegium; Agder Academy of Sciences and Letters; Norwegian-American Historical Association; Kirkehistorisk Samfund; Church Research Centre; General Synod and the Doctrinal Commission in the Church of Norway
