Victory Jig

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Victory Jig is a phrase describing the celebration of a victory or success with a little dance, shuffle, body movement, skip, or spring in the step. It is most common in sports, but has also appeared in the political sphere (See David Trimble).

The term can be used approvingly or abusively. A Victory Jig can be engaged in as a genuine celebration or as a means to humiliate or taunt an opponent/adversary ie. to engage in a triumphant manner, or Triumphalism.
