Victoria Skating Rink

Victoria Skating Rink was the main sports arena located in Montreal, Quebec, Canada. It was built in 1862. It holds the distinction as hosting the first ever organized ice hockey match on March 3, 1875, which was organized by James Creighton. The International Ice Hockey Federation is currently trying to place a marker at the site of the rink. It also hosted the first Stanley Cup matches in 1893. The Amateur Hockey Association's Montreal Victorias played their home games at the Victoria Skating Rink. The venue cloased in 1937.
