Victoria Peak (Belize)
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Victoria Peak within the Maya Mountains is the second highest elevation in Belize. At a height of 1160 meters, the peak is situated in the Cockscomb Basin Wildlife Sanctuary. The first exploration of the ascent occurred in British expeditions of 1888 and 1889, but the explorers actually scaled a nearby peak that they mistakenly labelled Victoria Peak.[1]
