Victoria Park Avenue

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Victoria Park Avenue is a major north-south route in eastern Toronto, Ontario, Canada.

The road once formed the boundary for the former township, borough, and city of Scarborough with the former municipalities of East York, North York, and the former city of Toronto.

It begins near Lake Ontario at Queen Street at the east end of The Beaches community, and ends a short distance north of Steeles Avenue at Denison Street in Markham, Ontario, which makes about 17 km. Victoria Park remains one of the busiest north-south streets on Toronto's east side, along with Markham Road and Kennedy Road. It is served by the TTC Subway at Victoria Park station and Route 24 (Victoria Park) and Route 12 (Kingston Road) buses. There is a proposal for a "Victoria Park North" Subway station, on the Sheppard Subway that presently ends at Don Mills Terminal. This station would be located at Sheppard Avenue, where the 224 Victoria Park North route serving Don Mills Station, joins Victoria Park. On weekends, this route is called Woodbine and is a York Region Transit route.
