Victoria Park, Adelaide

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Victoria Park is a park located in the Southeastern Parklands of the South Australian capital of Adelaide. It is bordered by Fullarton and Greenhill Roads and is a venue for a variety of major events.

The park's most prominent feature is the Victoria Park Racecourse; the main track is 2,360 metres long, with the longest home-straight of any horse racing track in Australia.[1] The track is one of the venues for the Adelaide International Horse Trials.

Part of the racecourse is utilised for the Adelaide Street Circuit, a temporary track used for motor racing. The circuit hosts the Adelaide 500 and formerly staged the Australian Grand Prix, from 1985 to 1995.
