Victoria Hamilton

Victoria Hamilton (born 5 April 1971) is a British actress.

She was born in Wimbledon, London, England, and grew up in Godalming, Guildford, Surrey.

She trained at the London Academy of Music and Dramatic Art.

In 1995, she appeared in Ibsen's The Master Builder directed by Peter Hall and starring Alan Bates and Gemma Jones.

Hamilton (a stage name; her surname is actually Sharp) is best known for playing 19th century characters such as Mrs. Forster in the Emmy-winning British 1995 miniseries Pride and Prejudice, and Maria Bertram in a 1999 film of Mansfield Park (which included her only known nude scene). She also played Queen Victoria in the BBC-TV production Victoria & Albert in 2001.

She has been a member of the Peter Hall Company, the Royal Shakespeare Company and the National Theatre, as well as appearing in the West End and on Broadway.
