Victor Nsofor Obinna

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Victor Nsofor Obinna (born 25 March 1987 in Jos) is a Nigerian footballer who plays for A.C.Chievo Verona. His favoured position is usually as a striker, he participated in the 2006 African Cup Of Nations with his country of birth Nigeria.

Obinna, considered a very promising youngster, was signed by Chievo in 2005 and on his first season he managed to score 6 goals in 26 games for the Verona giants, even scoring on his Serie A debut against Parma the goal was a crucial one as Chievo went on to win 1 - 0. Obinna has scored 4 goals in 8 games this season and poses an excellent game-to-goal ratio so far. He has also played for Plateau United, Kwara United, and Enyimba though sadly all have been plagued by Obinnas' lack of consistency. Obinna as he is known was involved in a legal dispute between Brazilian club Internacional Porto Alegre and his current club Chievo Verona. The reason is that he signed a contract with each club. Obinna wishes on playing for Manchester United, in an interview with Gazetta dello sport he claimed "I watch all Manchester United matches on TV, I'd do anything to play there one day".

He participated in Nigerias' Under-20s' world championships run in Holland, but even after excellent displays for the Under-20s' he hasn't yet found a Nigeria cap.
