Victor Moritz is a fictional character who appears in the 1931 Universal film version of Mary Shelley's novel, Frankenstein. He was played by John Boles.
Victor is the movie representation of Victor Frankenstein's best friend, called Henry Clerval in the novel. His name is taken from Victor Frankenstein and Justine Moritz.
In the movie, Victor was secretly in love with Henry Frankenstein's bride, Elizabeth, but because of his respect for both her and Henry tried not to interfere in their relationship. He does not appear in the movie's 1935 sequel, Bride of Frankenstein, and no explanation is given for his absence.
