Victor Malarek

Victor Gregory Malarek (born 26 June 1948 in Lachine, Quebec) is a Canadian journalist and author. Early in his career, he reported on the Quebec October Crisis. During the 1990s, he was one of the reporters for CBC Television's the fifth estate.
As a youth, Malarek ran afoul with the law. However, he would abandon delinquency in favour of a newspaper career, first with Weekend Magazine, then as a junior reporter at the Montreal Star. He was portrayed by Elias Koteas in the 1989 television docudrama Malarek.
Currently, Malarek is a senior reporter for CTV Television's W-FIVE.
