Talk:Victoria Davis

I think that perhaps a competition in a beauty pageant may not be enough to constitute a person's own page, however, after being contacted about this by the readers of my blog - I have created an additional link to other people named Victoria Davis. I think putting all of the "beauty queens" may be about like putting all of the edubloggers in Wikipedia. I don't know if it meets the definition of something to be in Wikipedia.—The preceding unsigned comment was added by Brightideasguru (talk • contribs).
Pageant updater - I'm not sure that winning one pageant would qualify as notable and perhaps suggest that this be moved to the Wiki News directory. If you look at the definition of notable, is is that it is significant over time, which pageants are not necessarily.

[edit] Notability
Subject is notable as she has won a state level Miss Teen USA title and will compete in the Miss Teen USA pageant. -- PageantUpdater • talk | contribs | esperanza 01:43, 1 January 2007 (UTC)
If you look at the definition of the notability of people from Wikipedia, perhaps your list of state winners is more appropriately a list rather than individual biographies. Your biographies seem to state no more than the person won. 18:04, 1 January 2007 (UTC)
Please sign off. Its early in the piece. The majority contain much more information about the delegate, this one however is more sparse because no biography has been posted by the director. When that comes, the article will obviously be expanded. Check out the rest of the articles (& the Miss USA delegate ones)... -- PageantUpdater • talk | contribs | esperanza
I do not have issue with the Miss USA pieces, they are adults. I have issue with the notability of teens and with the wisdom of posting their information publicly. I think this is a policy that should be discussed by more editors as this is more than just about this person. Victoria A. Davis 20:22, 1 January 2007 (UTC)

- As all the information posted about them is freely available on the web anyway (hence, where some states are slow to get info up, these articles can look a little bare at first) I can't see what the problem is... -- PageantUpdater • talk | contribs | esperanza 20:27, 1 January 2007 (UTC)
