[edit] The Band
Their debut single "Fallen" was released on the 17th July 2006. Produced by Mike Cave at Liverpool's Parr Street Studios, receiving airplay on both sides of the Atlantic. There has been a phenomenal response stateside, including regular airplay on KROQ, KNRK, WEQX, Indie 103 and an interview and acoustic session on San Diego station 91Xs The Big Break, a slot usually reserved for US talent. In the UK, Fallen has received regional & national airplay including by Zane Lowe at Radio 1, Phil Jupitus and Tom Robinson at BBC6 music & XFM; who have recently playlisted the track in Manchester, Scotland and London; a rare feat for an unsigned band, causing XFM DJ Clint Boon (of Inspiral Carpets fame) to announce "This band are going to make a huge impact on the world of music. They are going to be massive."
Frustrated with everyday life, the Leeds-based band formed in 2004. Industry recognition and public acclaim swiftly followed as Vib Gyor went on to perform at Glastonbury and Manchesters In The City music convention later that year. Vib Gyor have played with some of the best bands in the country and have built a loyal international fan base. This summer they played at the launch night of XFM Manchester with Goldfrapp at the Manchester Ritz to a sell-out crowd. They also headlined the Leeds festival on the Sunday night (Topman stage.)
Combining the intensity of Radiohead with the subtle soundscapes of Sigur Ros, they have become purveyors of the finest atmospheric, explosive rock. With shimmering guitars, pounding drums and aching, sweeping vocals, Vib Gyor offer the Radiohead generation an essential addition to its CD collection
Vib Gyor are due to release their second single on the 5th March - 'The Secret' taken from their forthcoming E.P. was recorded by Paul Corkett (Muse, Radiohead) in his Studios in Bath. It is currently receiving airplay in the UK (BBC6 Music & XFM). In the USA the band were recently tipped as 'most likely to succeed in 2007' by Britsound and the single is already causing a stir with plays on Indie 103, KRNK and WEQX.
