[edit] Copy editing

This article requires copy editing.

"This is done by adjusting the lens to compensate, and to make sure the focal point" is an incomplete sentence.

"...slower than 1/ focal length in 35mm format" is confusing grammar.

"With VR enabled lenses, one can shoot up to 4 steps faster..." uses an ambiguous term "steps." Does this mean F stops?

"For example, an image that is taken at 1/125 second shutter speed to compensate for image blurring without a VR lens can be re-taken at 1/15 second shutter speed with a VR lens" is a run-on sentence.

"[T]his can be a fallacy" doesn't make sense. Is it a fallacy or not?

etc., etc., etc.

I've addressed the above concerns (I think; I'm not too sure how the quoted sentence was a run-on sentence though). If there's any more copy edit concerns, please list them (or indeed, edit them!). If there are none left, please remove the {{copyedit}} tag. Thanks! NeoThermic
Thanks for taking the time to edit. More copy editing is clearly still required, however. For now the {{copyedit}} tag should be left. More contributors to this article are needed. --Stybn 16:37, 1 January 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Accuracy

This article contains some material misstatements.

"Vibration Reduction works by compensating for small erroneous movements the operator of the camera makes while shooting a picture. (Emphasis added)" Is this how it works, or what it's designed to do? There's a difference.

"Once the data has been sampled, it is sent to a microprocessor in the lens itself." This is incorrect, or at least confusing. It makes it sound like VR is a two-step process that happens once.

"It is generally regarded that with a tripod, one shouldn't get any vibration..." is false.

etc., etc., etc.

Thanks for taking the time to edit. More editing for accuracy, and citing sources, is clearly still required however. For now the {{accuracy}} anf {{sources}} tags should be left. More contributors to this article are needed. --Stybn 16:37, 1 January 2007 (UTC)

With respect to use on a tripod, it is generally accepted that VR should be turned OFF. The manual for my VR 70-300mm states, "When the lens is mounted on a tripod, set the vibration reduction ON/OFF switch to [OFF]."
