VG30DET

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The VG30DET engine was most effective and popular in the Nissan 300ZR model, what we know as the 1984-1989 Nissan 300ZX here (z31 chassis) though it was also available in the Cedric, Gloria, Cima and Leopard chassis. It's a single turbo solution that was used from 1987 all the way up to 1995 in Japan and the predecessor for the VG30DETT, the engine that released in the 1990 300ZX Twin-Turbo.

The VG30DET is a 3.0 Liter, 24 Valve, DOHC, Quad-Cam, VTC equipped engine mated to a Single T3 (Nissan N1 Type) 4 Bolt Garrett Turbo running between 7.5 - 11.5psi. Generating 222 - 255hp and between 198 - 236lb ft depending on boost level, intake manifold, intercooler, etc.

Very popular swap into of course the US Z31 300zx and the Datsun 510. There have been other swaps as well, but those are the most popular.
