VfR Schlesien Breslau

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

VfR Schlesien Breslau was a German football club playing in Breslau, Lower Silesia (now Wrocław, Poland) which folded in the aftermath of World War II.

The club was founded in 1897 as the sports club SV Blitz Breslau and was one of the founding members of the DFB (Deutscher Fussball Bund or German Football Association) established in Leipzig in 1900. Just a year later the football department left the club to form SC Schlesien Breslau. This club would be involved in at least two mergers before disappearing, playing as SC Schlesien 01 Rapid Breslau before later merging with VfR 1897 Breslau.
