Vertex is a UK provider of outsourced business services and technology solutions with expertise in customer management.

A subsidiary of FTSE 100 company, United Utilities, Vertex develops and implements a range of service solutions including transformational outsourcing, combining their skills in consulting, technology and outsourced service provision to stimulate and facilitate business change and flexibility.

Vertex works in partnership with clients in the UK commercial, financial services, utility and public sectors to help deliver operational and customer service excellence.

Their head office is near Liverpool and 9000 employees are based in 68 locations across the UK, USA, Canada and India. Turnover for the year 2005/06 was £404.7m.

Takeover United Utilities announced in December 2006 that it would be offering Vertex to potential purchasers as they wished to concentrate on their other businesses. On January 15th 2007, United Utilities announced that it had accepted an offer of $426.09 million (US) from Oak Hill Capital & Partners.
