Verron Ulric Haynes (born February 17, 1979 in Woodstock, Georgia) is a National Football League halfback formerly for the Pittsburgh Steelers, who plays mostly on passing downs. He is occasionally moved to the fullback position to comply with Pittsburgh's running game.

In five seasons with the Steelers, Haynes has gained 660 yards on 159 carries (4.2 average) and three touchdowns. He also has recorded 39 receptions for 322 yards (8.3 average) and two touchdowns, including one from former Steelers wide receiver Antwaan Randle El.

He is a very accomplished backup running back and the Steelers resigned him when he became a free agent shortly after their Super Bowl XL win, despite several other teams' interests in him. He missed most of the 2006 season due to a knee injury.

Haynes played college football for the University of Georgia Bulldogs from 1998-2001.

Haynes graced the cover of Pittsburgh Magazine's 25 Most Beautiful People issue in January, 2007. [1]

On March 1, 2007, Haynes was cut by the Steelers so they could save cap room, but is expected to resign with the team.
